Liger vs. Hippopotamus

Hippopotamus is a huge animal. It is very common in Africa. It is also responsible for killing more numbers of lions as well as human beings in Africa than any other animal. It is even impossible for the group of lions to take down a fully grown hippopotamus. It has huge tusks, which can crush anything coming into its mouth. However, there have been reports about group of lions taking down hippopotamus but relatively smaller in size. Hippopotamus can reach the weights of around 7000 pounds. Even bigger ones can reach the weights of 9000 pounds.

Another important fact about the Hippopotamus is that they are the most dangerous animals in Africa. Surely lion is the king in the wild. But statistics from Africa show that Hippopotamus kills more numbers of human beings as compared to other wild animals e.g., lions, leopards, Hyenas, buffaloes and even the Cheetahs as well.

Hippopotamus are highly territorial. Whenever, human beings within the area go near the water-holds, they consider them as intruders and quickly attack them without any fear. They have four huge tusks, and can easily kill a human with a single bite.Liger on the other hand weighs 900 pound.

Therefore, it will be impossible for a single liger or even two ligers to take down a hippopotamus. Maybe, it can be dangerous for liger to encounter with such a prey as it may give a killer blow back to the liger as well.
