Currently; it appears as if the Hua Hin Zoo has only one liger. The exact whereabouts of this liger at the Hua Hin Zoo are not known. It appears as if this only liger at the Hua Hin Zoo is a female liger. The name of this liger is also not known yet. The female liger looks very young and she appears to be around 2 to 3 years old. Right now this female liger appears to be a bit smaller (because the liger is in her growing years) but ligers are known to be bigger than lions and tigers. This female liger at the age of maturity will almost be 450 pounds in terms of her weight which is almost equivalent to the weights of male lions and Bengal tigers. Male ligers are known to grow at the rate of around 1 pound per date which is highest among all the big cats. Female ligers on the other hand grow at around half a pound per day on average during their growing years.

When it comes to the interaction with this female liger at the Hua Hin Zoo the options are very interactive and open for the visitors. The zoo allows its visitors to not only touch the liger but also allows them to hug them as well. You can even take a great photograph with a liger by hugging the head of the liger. The liger seems to be very calm and allows the visitors to freely cuddle it. Even though this practice does seem a bit risky but there is nothing to be worried as an animal trainer is always around in case a liger shows its aggression to the visitor. It is believed that big cats are usually drugged (according to the visitors) during their interaction with the visitors, therefore; these big cats don’t show any aggression towards the visitors and the animal stays clam. Please do remember that such practice is banned in USA but every country has its own rules and this practice has its own pros and cons. We believe that as far as this practice does not harm the animal; this practice should be considered positive.

Hua Hin Zoo offers a great care to its animals. All animals look well-fed and healthy indeed. They are a big team of hundreds of individuals and volunteer who take care of all these big cats i.e., ligers, tigers, lions etc. The liger at the zoo shares its enclosure with at least 2 white Bengal tigers. The enclosure looks very big and it even has a small pool for the big cats to enjoy water. Please do remember that both ligers and tigers love to swim in water, whereas; lions on the other hand don’t enjoy swimming in water. Therefore; having a water pool or a pond for liger and tigers should be one of their basic necessities and Hua Hin Zoo meets these requirements. Furthermore; the overall general experience of visitors visiting the zoo is also very positive about the zoo facilities.

As far as the popularity of the zoo goes, it might be popular in Thailand but internationally the zoo does not hold any recognition. Despite the fact that the zoo has one of the rarest animal like liger yet still no one even knows that a Thailand’s Zoo has a liger for its visitors. Even the official website of the Hua Hin Zoo profiles a few of their big cats but it does not profile their liger which is rather surprising. Having a dedicated page for the liger especially in both English and Thai languages will definitely boost the popularity of the Hua Hin Zoo worldwide as well.
