Hercules the Liger at National Geographic

Hercules the Liger has appeared in many National Geographic programs. Two of the most popular documentaries where Hercules the Liger has featured included "Supercat" and "The Ultimate Cat". Additionally, Hercules the Liger has also been featured in some other big cat documentaries as a reference. Within these documentaries, Hercules the Liger was declared as a living-breathing super supercat on Earth.

Within these documentaries of National Geographic, the core focus of the big cat experts was to find the ultimate cat on earth. They found Hercules the Liger as one of the contenders. They mentioned his weight of more than 900 pounds which no other big cat has. They showed Hercules the liger could easily reach the height of 13 feet by standing on his hind legs. They also made a comparison of Hercules the Liger with lions and tigers. And lastly, they discussed the power of a hybrid big cat. Similarly, they questioned whether bigger is always better for big cats to be the ultimate.

Hercules the Liger gained tremendous popularity in the media through National Geographic. Especially, “The Super Cat” program in which he and his sibling Sinbad the Liger also appeared. People have given very positive feedback after learning the facts about Hercules the Liger. For many viewers, this tremendous big cat's attributes were rather surprising, as the world had never seen such a huge cat before.

Dr. Bhagavan Antle, the man who raised Hercules the Liger revealed different insights about the ligers, e.g., the vigor from hybrid, the element of power, the component of perfection, the characteristics of agility, the feature of being mild and moderate aggressive, etc. He claimed that Hercules should be the supercat because he had a blend of all the best features of lions and tigers.

National Geographic also made a skull size comparison of the three big cats, i.e., lions, tigers, and Ligers. The skull of a liger was twice bigger than the skull of a lion or a tiger. Similarly, they revealed the bite force of a liger and claimed that a liger can generate a bite force of about 900 pounds.
